Me, In the Sand

We walked in the sand, white and soft. Soaking our feet in the fresh beach sand. The sun had set and moon rose high, less than round and bright as ever. Waves came back and forth, the moonlight reflected in the night sea. The sound of the sea against the shore was the music for two love birds in the sand.

I took her hand in mine, smooth and supple, and clenched it. She turned her face, staring at me with her big eyes, pools of black that I drowned in. The muscles in her face stretched mildly, I could see the smile on her small, pink lips. Her straight black hair flew as the salty air hit her face. The tiny earrings in her ears shone against the moonlight.

We sat on the beach, glaring at the sea. It was a cold, dark night, and the beach deserted. I chose a secluded beach, with hardly any people. More living souls always hindered the beauty of nature. Our bodies soon rested on the cool sand.

“Can you see the stars?” I said, looking in her eyes.

“Only their reflection in your eyes,” her cheeks turned a light shade of pink.

We stared at the sky. Every star revealed itself as we kept looking. Each one shone brighter than the other. Out hands tangled and melted in one another’s. My left hand traced the shapes that the stars formed. The cluster seemed to suck me in, pulling me far from her, her eyes, her lips, her hands. I turn and she is looking at the stars with an awe. I fold my arm and rest my head against my wrist, she rests hers at my arm.

A horse, a flower, a trumpet, a castle, an eye were a few shapes amongst a million others in the sky. Waves in our ears, stars in the eyes, hand in hand. She turned and pulled me by my tie, “Give me your lips!”

My eyes blinded by the dazzling stars, closed, as her cushy lips met mine own. The dry lips turned wet and the cold air did not seem much cold all of a sudden. The sounds of kisses mitigated the music of waves. Something behind me moved. I did not pay it any heed and held her by her waist, our bodies sinking in the sand.

It came, and with a rapid stance, stung its tail at the back of my neck. I drowned deeper in her lip and even more in her eyes. My eyes closed, to drink her one more time, one last time.

She kissed me, harder every time, as I lay still. Kisses turned to slaps and the black creature revealed itself. My shoe in her hand, crushed and ended its life. Sea was not the only thing that had salt water then, her eyes did too. She kissed me again, her lips salty this time. She sobbed as she moved her lips on mine, she hugged my body and pulled me close, and the cluster of stars sucked me in.
